Enrich your passion for healthcare through a multi-day experience filled with exposure to careers across healthcare while connecting you to community, careers, and professionals in the healthcare industry.
The national AHEC program was established by the U.S. Congress in 1971 to recruit, train and retain a health professions workforce committed to rural and underserved populations.
AHEC Scholars is a program for health professions students interested in supplementing their education by gaining additional knowledge and experience in rural and/or underserved urban settings. This is a longitudinal program with interdisciplinary curriculum to implement a defined set of clinical, didactic and community-based activities.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: In response to the COVID-19 pandemic and consistent with directives from the CDC, Wisconsin AHEC has limited all programming to virtual or livestream format. Programs or events that are not conducive to remote delivery will be canceled with consideration, when possible, for rescheduling to a later date. Additionally, all of our team members are practicing social distancing to help mitigate the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. The best way to reach us during this time is through email at bgingras@nwwisconsinahec.org.
