THE PULSE IS DESIGNED FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS FROM ST. CROIX COUNTY THAT ARE INTERESTED IN A HEALTHCARE CAREER!!!!



The Pulse is a 4-day, healthcare exploration experience  that provides opportunities for high school students to experience first-hand the challenges, opportunities and rewards of health professions. The hands-on activities are facilitated by instructors and health care professionals. 


During the Pulse you will:

  • Engage with Professionals from Healthcare and Medical Industry
  • Go virtually behind the scenes at hospitals, clinics, and other health services facilities
  • Experience and explore an array of healthcare careers 
  • Observe up-close the college and university programs that will get you the career you want!
  • ​Discover the life of being a college student in healthcare programs from the students themselves


The Pulse will introduce you to the following careers and/or local partners

  • Nursing
  • Military Flight Nurse
  • Yoga and Wellness
  • Pharmacist
  • Chiropractic
  • Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College
  • Presbyterian Homes- Woodland Hills
  • Catalyst Sports Medicine
  • Western Wisconsin Health 
  • Gillette Children's Specialty Healthcare
  • and more...


A limited number of students are selected to attend camp based on the information provided in their applications. The Pulse participants are required to pay a confirmation fee of $50, which is due upon acceptance to the program. The confirmation fee is nonrefundable. Financial assistance available if needed.
